I'm going a bit back to front with this series of blog posts about my latest Ziggy Star Quilt Pattern. I shall tell you for why.
After making the original quilt samples and releasing the pattern, I wanted to make a Ziggy Star quilt for myself using what has come to be known as the Berry Biscuit colour combo. And as I got many requests for details of which fabric I was using I jumped ahead to complete a colour guide for you.
The berry biscuit colour combo is perfect for autumn. Warm, rich and cosy. I have put together a guide using Robert Kaufman Kona Solids. And created a chart which tells you how many cut pieces are needed in each of the eight block colour placements. This guide is an add on to the Ziggy Star Quilt Pattern which provides the cutting, sewing and construction information. You could always just download it as a colour guide to use elsewhere as well.
Within the pattern there are colour recipe cards. The berry biscuit colour way is #5. The purpose of the recipe cards is so you can take them to your LQS and know which fabrics you need to create the look on the card. And each colour is matched to a RK Kona Solid.
I will update this blog post when I get a chance to sew all my blocks together. But in the mean time knock yourself out and GET THE GUIDE HERE
