Naive Melody: The Lockdown Quilt

Naive Melody: The Lockdown Quilt

I'm delighted to be introducing Naive Melody.  A quilt that has been in the making since April this year and throughout the whole of lockdown.  It really became a labour of love with all the emotions of lockdown being stitched into it on a daily basis.
Naive Melody is made up of 100 blocks and was created initially as part of the 100 Day Project 2020 where I decided I wanted to improve my needle turn appliqué skills.  Inspiration was taken from the Tiny Prints.  My 2017 100 Day Project.  This germ of an idea had clearly been brewing for a long time!  And lockdown give me the opportunity, and time, to stitch a quilt with the majority being appliqué.   It's not a fast one, but a fun and very fulfilling quilt to make.

Naive Melody is available as a PDF pattern with the sew along beginning on the 1st of September 2020 running through until the 31st of January 2021.  You will need the Naive Melody Quilt Pattern to take part in the sew along.
We will be making 4 blocks a week and I've given us a couple of weeks off over the festive season. This should to keep us at a steady pace and not leave anyone behind.  Email prompts to the 'Melody Mob' will be sent on the last Friday of the month.  And there will be monthly prizes of course. We all love prizes!

Towards the end of August I will be sending out videos to sew along participants demonstrating how to needle turn applique, how to use the freezer paper technique, and how to machine applique.   It's a very much make it up as you go along and completely make it your own kind of quilt.  Great for using whatever fabric you have in your scrap box.  Having a rough colour palette and just go for it!
